CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION EXTENDED TO 15 MARCH


The South African Nephrology Society (SANS) and Renal Care Society of South Africa (RCSSA) Scientific Programme Committees would like to extend an invitation to you to submit an abstract/s for the upcoming South African Renal Congress which will be held at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC Durban) from 26 - 29 May 2022.

Please ensure that you read through the information below carefully.

PROFILE

You will need to set up a profile for yourself on the online submission system. This will only need to be done once. You will then be able to login whenever required to submit or amend your abstract/s. Submissions and amendments will be permitted until the 15 March 2022. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & INSTRUCTIONS

Submitted abstracts should be original, topical, and current.
Your abstract should provide a concise summary of your paper.
All abstracts will be published as received in the African Journal of Nephrology.
Abstracts must be submitted online.
Abstracts can be submitted for oral or poster presentation.
Please use single line spacing. Please view detailed format guidelines below.
Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words excluding the title, authors, and their affiliations.
The title of your abstract should be Arial 10pt. Bold in UPPERCASE.
Authors and Affiliations should be Arial 10pt. with the presenting author underlined.
The body text should be Arial 10pt. and justified.
The body text must include background, methods, results, and conclusion sections as appropriate.
Abstracts should NOT contain tables, figures or references.

ACCEPTANCE / REJECTION OF ABSTRACTS

The Scientific Programme Committees for both SANS and RCSSA reserve the right to accept or reject any abstract.
Authors will be notified in writing by the 22 March 2022 whether their abstract has been accepted or rejected. Authors will also be notified at this point whether they have been accepted for oral or poster presentation and will be advised of the necessary guidelines for their relevant presentation type.
Late submissions and submissions that do not conform to the guidelines above will not be considered.
Presenting authors must be registered and present at the congress to present their work. Presenting authors will be able to register at the early registration fee but must be registered by the 31 March 2022.

The abstract that you upload onto the online system must follow the format below.

Background
The background should provide a summary of the content of your proposed paper. The body text should not exceed 300 words. The body text must be 10pt. Arial and justified. Please use single line spacing and double check your spelling and grammar. The deadline for submissions is the 15 March 2022.

Methods
Authors will be advised of their acceptance or rejection by the 18 March 2022. The presenting author must be registered and present at the congress to present the accepted work. Authors that are not registered by the 31 March 2022 will not be included in the programme.

Results
Abstracts must be submitted online and there is no limit to the number of abstracts each author can submit.
Late submissions and submissions that do not conform to the above guidelines will not be considered.
