CLINICAL SKILLS UPLIFTMENT INITIATIVE
The UCT Department of O&G will launch its inaugural Skills Upliftment Initiative supported by the Nina Lipshitz Trust, at the 2019 UCT/O&G Refresher Course.

The aim of this initiative is to invest in the advancement of surgical and procedural skills that will have an impact on the improvement of women's health.

This series of workshops will be conducted two days prior to commencement of the Refresher Course. The following exciting workshops will be presented:

Course convener: Dr Malika Patel - Reproductive Medicine Subspecialist, head of Reproductive Health and Fertility Regulation and senior lecturer, Groote Schuur Hospital, University of Cape Town.

HYSTEROSCOPY MASTERCLASS

The UCT department of O&G would like to invite you to take part in a half day workshop during taking the form of 2 short didactic sessions lead by experts in the field of office hysteroscopy and operative hysteroscopy.

There will also be ample opportunity and time allocated for hands on training with state-of-the-art hysteroscopy equipment (sponsored by Karl Storz and Johnson & Johnson) supervised by expert hysteroscopists.

The various aspects to be covered will include office hysteroscopy (tips and tricks including procedural sedation), Karl Storz Bugatti shaver and its uses, bipolar resectoscope with opportunity to practice on vegetable model.

Who should attend?
All levels of gynaecological endoscopists will benefit from the workshop as the course covers material aimed at trainees as well as experienced hysteroscopists who want to keep abreast of all the newest techniques available.

Therefor medical officers working in gynaecology, O&G registrars and practicing gynaecologists will benefit from attending.

Workshop attendance limited to 20 due to venue limitations and equipment availability.
