PROF. JUSTIN KONJE MD, MBA, FRCOG

A Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Weill Cornell Medical College Qatar and Emeritus Professor at the University of Leicester, UK. Prof Konje is a Senior Attending Physician at Sidra Medicine and Women's Wellness and Research Center, Doha Qatar. He is a clinical academic with a special interest in Diabetes in Pregnancy, Fetal Growth Disorders, Fetal Programming and Uteroplacental Circulation. He has a wide research portfolio covering aspects of gynaecology, obstetrics and fetal medicine.

Prior to joining Sidra, he was a Professor at the University of Leicester and the University Hospitals of Leicester where he was Head of Maternity Services for four years, Head of the East Midland Postgraduate School for four years and Head of the Fetal Medicine unit for 10 years. He served as member of the RCOG council for six years and a Fellow representing the International constituency of the RCOG council for three years. He is passionate about education and runs various very successful postgraduate courses in the UK and overseas. He has served in various education and examination committees at the RCOG.

PROF. JAN-PAUL ROOVERS MD, PhD, uro-gynaecologist

Prof JP Roovers is vice-president of the Dutch Society of Pelvic Floor Medicine. He is chair of the Dutch guideline committee for pelvic organ prolapse and for six years he served as the chair of the education committee of IUGA. Prof Roovers is currently a member of the education committee of EUGA. He was chair of the EUGA annual meeting in Amsterdam in 2016 and is chair of the IUGA annual meeting in the Hague, 2020. Since 2016 he is honorary professor at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Prof Roovers' research focusses on the development, evaluation and safe introduction of innovative treatment modalities for pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence. He leads a research group of 15 researchers, including 12 PhD's and focusses on clinical and pre-clinical research including animal studies. Prof. Roovers has published over 170 papers and many book chapters.
