We are glad to invite you to the 2020 South African Renal Congress, which will be held from 25 to 29 November 2020 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. On behalf of the South African Renal Society (SARS) and South African Renal Care Society (RCCSA), we welcome your participation at this event.
These two organisations are made up of practising and non-practising nephrologists, physicians interested in nephrology, nursing, and Dialysis Technologist. The purpose of this meeting is to keep those associated with our organisations abreast of all the latest research and continually updated in the field of nephrology. The theme for the conference will be "Big Data and access to quality renal care." Focusing on the increasing burden of kidney disease and associated high financing costs, and how organised data sets, such as patient registries, and the upcoming national health insurance can increase our understanding of local disease patterns and delivered outcomes as well as assist in improving access to quality renal care.
We want to reach out to the medical industry and private organisations, to request support in the form of an educational grant. This grant will be used for the sole purpose of hosting this conference, to advance further education and the capacitating of practitioners within renal medicine. Moreover, we invite sponsorship in the form of display stands with an opportunity to increase brand visibility for sponsoring companies to a large number of delegates.
There are currently 150 doctors on the SARS database consisting of nephrologists and physicians with interest in nephrology and over 1100 members of the RCCSA consisting of nephrology nurses, Dialysis Technologist and associated health care professionals. We are expecting over 500 delegates comprised of various medical professionals associated with these organisations and those with keen interest in renal medicine to attend this conference. The meeting will be held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in the warm coastal city of Durban.
As an organisation, we thank you for your willingness to assess our request and look forward to a favourable response.
