Commence the tour at Tourist Junction for the story of Gandhi's train journey in Durban, in 1893. Next stop is at the Victoria St. Market for curios and a spice demonstration on how to use them. A 20 minute drive out of the city takes you to the Inanda Heritage Route, to visit the first home of Mahatma Gandhi. Inland Safari

Depart Durban for a pleasant drive along the South Coast and then inland through rural areas to Tala Private Game Reserve. This is a small private game farm, which has a delightful setting among the acacia trees and open plains. On arrival, refreshments will be served under the trees. Game vehicles will arrive to take you on a game drive to have a closer view of the game. You can expect to see giraffe, rhino, wildebeest, ostrich, antelope, warthog and hippos. The birdlife is abundant. After your game drive, lunch will be served at the Latala restaurant. Good South African wines (for your own account) and lunch will be enjoyed. A leisurely journey is planned for your trip back to Durban.

DAY 1: Johannesburg To Orighstadt:
Depart Johannesburg International Airport or Sandton Hotels. From Johannesburg, you will pass through Dullstroom, Lydenburg and over the scenically spectacular Long Tom Pass. A light lunch en-route and in the afternoon a panoramic sightseeing tour which includes some of the most spectacular countryside in South Africa. The Pinnacles, Bourke's Luck Potholes and Gods Window. View traditional arts and crafts en route. Overnight at a lodge near Orighstadt.

DAY 2: Orighstadt To Kruger Park:
Breakfast at the lodge and then travel via the Abel Erasmus Pass to enter the Kruger National Park at Orpen Gate. A light lunch will be taken en-route or at the camp. Enjoy an evening drive on open game viewing vehicles in search of the nocturnal creatures.

DAY 3: Kruger Park Open Vehicle Game Drive:
On day 3 spend the full day in the park in open vehicles, which will provide excellent game viewing opportunities. Included is a picnic lunch. The tour vehicle will meet you at the next camp for the last night in the park. Possibility of seeing the "big five" Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard and Rhino.

DAY 4: Kruger Park To Johannesburg:
A leisurely start to the day after our previous early mornings. A relaxed breakfast and then we leave the park and start our journey back to Johannesburg. Lunch today will be at a restaurant en-route for your own expense. The tour will end at approximately 16h30 when you will be dropped off at the Johannesburg International Airport or your hotel in Johannesburg.

Post Conference Garden Route Tour: Durban To Cape Town

Day 1: Durban - Port Elizabeth - Storms River:
Board a one hour flight from Durban to Port Elizabeth and then travel through to Storms River where you overnight. Visit the Tsitsikamma National Park, which offers the contrasting beauty of river, forest, sea and Fynbos. Enjoy a short walk along the rugged coastline with spectacular sea views.

Day 2: Storms River - Wilderness:
Travel to Wilderness and along the way take in the view at the Bloukrans Gorge and in Knysna explore the Western Heads - a private nature reserve on the Knysna estuary accessible only by ferry. Walk on the pristine beaches, visit the craft shops along the way and enjoy the spectacular scenery around Knysna.

Day 3: Wilderness - Oudtshoorn:
Depart Wilderness and travel via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn where you visit the Cango Caves, an Ostrich farm and the Cango Wildlife Ranch.

Day 4: Oudtshoorn - Cape Town:
After breakfast travel via Swellendam to Hermanus (the whale capital of the world) for a short visit. The tour finishes in Cape Town in the evening, after a final trip along the spectacular Atlantic Ocean coastline.

DAY 1: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn:
Depart from the V&A Waterfront Hotels and travel the scenically spectacular coastline via Gordons Bay to Hermanus. From there travel via Swellendam and the Little Karoo to overnight in Oudtshoorn.

DAY 2: Oudtshoorn - Wilderness:
Breakfast in Oudtshoorn and then you visit and the Cango Caves, an Ostrich farm and the Cango Wildlife Ranch before travelling via the Outeniqua Pass to Wilderness.

DAY 3: Wilderness - Storms River:
An early morning walk on the pristine beaches for the energetic types. In Knysna, explore the Western Heads - a private nature reserve on the Knysna estuary accessible only by ferry, visit the craft shops and along the way enjoy the spectacular scenery around Knysna. Zululand Game Park Tour

Depart from Durban and drive along the beautiful North Coast into the heart of Zululand. En-route, enjoy a boat trip on Lake St.Lucia, a recently proclaimed World Heritage Site, with good opportunities to view hippo and crocodile. Overnight in the 4000 hectare Bonamanzi Private Game Reserve.

DAY 2: Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park And Surrounds:
After an early breakfast, depart for a half day open vehicle game drive into the nearby Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Park which is famous for its role in the preservation of the Black and White Rhino. Afternoon activities include a visit to the Illala Weavers craft shop and a guided bush walk / collecting trip in Bonamanzi. A bush dinner at the Out of Africa style restaurant is included.

DAY 3: Hluhluwe - Durban:
Last opportunity for an early morning bush walk or game drive, is followed by breakfast in the restaurant. Experience the traditional Zulu life and demonstrations on etiquette, the social system and traditional dancing at the great kraal of Senzangakhona as seen in the internationally acclaimed television series "Shaka Zulu". Enjoy the Zulu beer and a festive Zulu meal before proceeding to Durban.

Tour Bookings
Please select the tour of your choice from the excursion list on the congress website and complete the tour booking section. A deposit of 20% of the total tour value is required within 14 days of booking to confirm the tour reservation. The balance of the tour price must reach Turners Conferences 45 days prior to the tour departure date. Any tours booked within 45 days of the departure date must be paid in full immediately.

Please note that all tours operate according to tour operator's terms and conditions. A minimum number of participants are required for the tour to operate and any passengers who may be booked on a tour that does not attain the required minimum number of participants will either be refunded their payments in full or offered an alternative tour of similar quality and value.
