In the 1980s, Bishop Arthur Kulah of Liberia and Bishop Emilio J. M. de Carvalho of Angola took the lead in advocating for 'a university for all of Africa'. Their efforts generated a positive response within the United Methodist Church worldwide and in 1985 the 'Africa Initiative' was born.
This tour is a shorter version of the 7 night / 8 day programme. You will join the main tour for the first 4 days and when the main tour continues with the leisure sights of Zimbabwe, you will return to Johannesburg. The tour will give you an opportunity to visit the University and meet with locals and to get an idea of how the Methodist Church has helped the development of Africa University.
